I have a couple of these Glass Head posters from my dads Head shop back in the 1970"s. TIVIT in Toledo OH, plus have all the order catalogs from various distributers, IE Adams Apple, Nalpac, Morgan Love, Berney-Karp. Lots of good memories!
shelly roche. I am the Administrator for Chong Glass Market Facebook Group. Im doing research into older pipe makers. Id be interested in talking to you and looking at your catalogs if you still have them Jessie ChongGlassMarket@yahoo.com
I see you posted this about a year ago so I'm sure you've found the info you were looking for by now, but incase you haven't, Glass Head was a Berney Karp company which you can surely find info for on the net. I also have a few of his "Glass Head" pipes in new condition as well as some ceramic bongs with the karp insignia along with my "Rumph" ceramic bong collection which who he was affiliated with. Probably around 20 pieces in all.
Is there any further information on Berney Karp? Was this the company that manufactured/ marketed Glass Head pipes? Surprisingly there's not a lot of in fo on them that I can track down. I'm especially interested in the identity of the artist of that marvelous poster. I've tried to find out their name for decades now without success.
I have three of these. Two with the green background as shown and one with a black background. Unfortunately only one green one is in good condition and I had it mounted with matting. The black one is in poor condition. I wish someone would obtain the rights and reprint them. The other green one has some condition issues but is usable. I wish I could post photos here but don't see that option.
There is currently an image of the black background one at "antiquesnavigator.com" labeled "1975 BERNEY KARP - "GODDESS" GLASS HEAD LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA BONGS WATERPIPES" ( https://www.antiquesnavigator.com/d-1862554/1975-berney-karp--goddess-glass-head-los-angeles-california-bongs-waterpipes.html ).
There is another version of this poster at the Museum of American Glass in West Virginia (Google: MAGWV glass head Los Angeles California Karp ). That one appears to have a yellowish background and a green scarf. The goddess appears to be the same blue hue as in the black and green ones.
